HOW WE ARE ROUTING UAE CARGO RIGHT NOW

Road is the lane we are actively running. Across the GCC in 1 to 2 days, and into Türkiye in 9 to 10. Trucks that go south into the Gulf have to come back, so northbound capacity is steady and the rate sits well below the export direction. FTL and LTL, loaded in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi or any free zone. This routing depends on neither the Strait of Hormuz nor on regional airspace, which is why we put it first where it fits the cargo.

Ocean traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has been heavily restricted since February 2026 and container throughput at Jebel Ali is running far below normal, so we do not quote pre-disruption Jebel Ali transit times. We work through the gateways outside the strait instead: Khor Fakkan (AEKLF) and Fujairah (AEFJR) on the UAE's Gulf of Oman coast, and Sohar or Salalah in Oman, with road feeder to and from any emirate. Sailings from there serve the Indian subcontinent, the Far East, Europe, Africa and Türkiye alike. Carrier land-bridge routings through Saudi Arabia are the second option and add transhipments.

Air still flies, but regional airspace and routing restrictions make the transit unpredictable, so we confirm each booking with the airline rather than publish a schedule. It stays the right answer for small, urgent or fragile consignments, on a case-by-case basis.

The situation has reversed more than once since March 2026, so every UAE quote we issue carries a routing and a transit time confirmed for that specific booking. Ask us for the current routing.

JEBEL ALI & DUBAI — THE MIDDLE EAST'S RE-EXPORT HUB

The UAE is the trade crossroads of the Middle East. Jebel Ali — the world's largest man-made harbour and the region's leading container port — together with Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi and the air-cargo gateways of Dubai (DXB) and Al Maktoum, connect the Gulf to every major market. The Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) makes Dubai the largest re-export centre between Europe and Asia.

Road links the Emirates to Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC in 1–2 days and to Türkiye in 9–10, the latter on the backhaul leg of trucks that came south. Ocean cargo moves through Khor Fakkan and Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman coast, serving India, the Far East, Europe and Africa, for as long as Strait of Hormuz traffic stays restricted. Canxansa manages end-to-end exports and free-zone re-exports: customs, freight and last-mile delivery under a single point of contact.

Transit times shown are indicative baselines. While Strait of Hormuz traffic is restricted we route ocean cargo through Khor Fakkan and Fujairah, and regional airspace restrictions make air transit variable, so both are confirmed with the carrier for each booking. Road into Türkiye is the lane we run day to day. See routing status.

HOW WE MOVE
YOUR CARGO.

01

Road Freight — Türkiye & GCC

FTL and LTL road freight from the Emirates to Türkiye, and across the GCC land network to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain. The Türkiye lane is our active UAE service: it runs on the backhaul leg, so capacity is steady and the rate sits well below the opposite direction. Pickup from Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the free zones, delivery anywhere in Türkiye, cross-border customs handled throughout.

Sea Freight

FCL and LCL ocean freight from Jebel Ali (AEJEA), Khalifa Port (AEKHL) and Sharjah inside the Gulf, and from Khor Fakkan (AEKLF) and Fujairah (AEFJR) outside the Strait of Hormuz. Direct and transhipment services to Türkiye, the Indian subcontinent, the Far East, Europe and Africa. 20' and 40' ISO containers. Still the most cost-effective mode for large-volume, bulk and re-export consignments, with the routing chosen per booking instead of a published schedule.

Air Freight

Express and standard air cargo from Dubai (DXB), Al Maktoum (DWC), Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Sharjah (SHJ), among the world's busiest cargo airports. Still the right mode for time-sensitive, high-value or small-volume shipments such as electronics, spare parts and perishables. Regional airspace and routing restrictions currently make transit times unpredictable, so we confirm the routing and the flight with the airline for each booking instead of quoting a standard schedule. Door-to-door including customs clearance at origin and destination.

Common Questions

FREIGHT FROM
THE UAE — FAQ.

What is the fastest way to ship from the UAE to Türkiye?

On paper air is the fastest: 4–5 hours' flying time from Dubai (DXB) or Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Istanbul. In practice regional airspace and routing restrictions make air transit unpredictable at the moment, so we confirm it booking by booking instead of promising a schedule. The service we actually run day to day is road, FTL and LTL from the Emirates into Türkiye. Sea ran 7–10 days from Jebel Ali before the Strait of Hormuz disruption; since February 2026 we route ocean cargo through Khor Fakkan (AEKLF) or Fujairah (AEFJR) outside the strait, with the transit confirmed by the carrier for each booking.

Do you run road freight from the UAE to Türkiye?

Yes, and it is currently our main UAE to Türkiye service. Trucks that run south into the Gulf have to come back, so northbound capacity is steady and the rate is well below the Türkiye to UAE direction. We load FTL and LTL from Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the free zones and deliver to Istanbul, Ankara, Mersin or anywhere in Türkiye in 9 to 10 days, with cross-border customs handled along the way. Unlike ocean and air, this routing depends on neither the Strait of Hormuz nor on regional airspace, which is why we quote it first unless the cargo is small and genuinely urgent.

How long does sea freight from Jebel Ali and Khor Fakkan take?

Pre-disruption baselines: Jebel Ali to Türkiye (Mersin/Istanbul) 7–10 days; to India (Nhava Sheva) 3–6 days; to Pakistan (Karachi) 3–5 days; to China (Shanghai) 12–18 days; to North Europe (Hamburg/Rotterdam) 18–24 days via Suez; to Italy 12–16 days. Since the Strait of Hormuz disruption these figures no longer hold for any routing that passes the strait. Sailings from Khor Fakkan and Fujairah are outside it and are our default for UAE ocean cargo; the India and Pakistan legs are the least affected. FCL (20'/40') and LCL groupage are both available, and LCL adds 3–5 days for consolidation and deconsolidation. One practical limit worth knowing: most LCL consolidators still deconsolidate at Jebel Ali, so we check CFS availability at the east coast ports before committing an LCL booking.

Do you handle re-exports from the UAE free zones?

Yes. The UAE — especially Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) — is the Middle East's largest re-export hub. We handle re-export shipments from the free zones, including the documentation and customs formalities that differ from standard exports. Goods that enter the UAE and are re-shipped to Türkiye, Africa, the CIS or the wider region are a core part of our UAE service.

Which ports and airports do you work with in the UAE?

Sea: Jebel Ali (AEJEA), the world's largest man-made harbour, plus Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi (AEKHL) and Sharjah (AESHJ) inside the Gulf, and Khor Fakkan (AEKLF), Fujairah (AEFJR) and Sohar or Salalah in Oman on the Gulf of Oman side, outside the Strait of Hormuz. Air: Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum / DWC, Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Sharjah (SHJ). We arrange pickup from any emirate, including the Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi free zones and industrial areas.

Can you ship by road from the UAE to Saudi Arabia and the GCC?

Yes. Road freight (FTL and LTL) connects the UAE to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain across the GCC land border network. UAE to Saudi Arabia (Dammam/Riyadh) is typically 1–2 days by road; to Oman 1 day. We handle the GCC customs formalities and cross-border documentation.

What export documents does a UAE exporter need?

Standard documents: commercial invoice, packing list, HS classification, UAE customs declaration (via Dubai Trade / Mirsal or the relevant emirate's system), certificate of origin (often attested by a Chamber of Commerce), and the transport document — bill of lading (sea), airway bill (air) or CMR (road). Re-exports and free-zone movements have specific procedures we handle on your behalf.

What goods are commonly shipped from the UAE?

The UAE's main outbound trade includes re-exported electronics, machinery and consumer goods, petrochemicals and plastics, aluminium and metals, foodstuffs, and textiles. High-value and time-sensitive cargo moves by air, while bulk and containerised consignments move by sea from Jebel Ali.
