For full and part loads, road freight (TIR) is Türkiye's workhorse to Europe: Istanbul to Germany in 4–6 days, to Italy in 3–5 days, crossing into the EU at Kapıkule. Sea freight from Mersin and Ambarlı is the most economical mode for high-volume consignments. Transit times are indicative and depend on routing and border conditions.
Türkiye is in a Customs Union with the EU for industrial and processed goods, which means most manufactured products move between Türkiye and the EU free of customs duty when accompanied by an A.TR movement certificate. This makes Türkiye a uniquely cost-effective manufacturing and export base for the European market. Agricultural products and coal/steel goods fall outside the Customs Union and follow separate rules — we advise on the correct certificate (A.TR or EUR.1) for your cargo before you ship.
Road freight (TIR) from Istanbul, Bursa or Izmir to Germany typically takes 4–6 days, crossing into the EU at the Kapıkule–Kapitan Andreevo border with Bulgaria. FTL (full truck load) and LTL (part load / groupage) are both available. Times are indicative and depend on the loading point, German destination and border waiting times. Air freight is 1 day for urgent cargo; sea from Mersin to Hamburg runs 12–16 days.
